Check your URL to see if you have HTTP or HTTPS. If the URL begins with HTTP, then you are in need of upgrading your security.

If your website shows up as ‘not secure’, then it’s missing the SSL certificate. This is website security that protects internet sites. By having a secure website it means that your website creates a safe connection with your visitors server. By having a not secure connection, it means that information sent and received with the page is unprotected. This information could be stolen or modified.

Why It’s Important to Have a Secure Website

As you probably guessed, having an insecure website is not good. Not only will you be more prone to viruses and loss of trust with potential customers but it can have a negative impact on search engine rankings.

Check your hosting provider. Any good hosting service will offer a SSL Certificate for free. You’ll need to download the SSL certificate to your content management system.
